Waterfowl hunting

One of the best and most mysterious plays by Alexander Vampilov on the stage of the Palace of the Republic.

The performance by Evgeny Marchelli destroys all the usual stereotypes of staging this play: Zilov, performed by Ivan Yankovsky, is not a character disappointed in himself and in life, but a young man full of love, tenderness and vitality.

For the director, the key point was the age of the main character suggested by Vampilov – “Zilov is about 30 years old.” With the energy of entering life that is characteristic of youth, he tries to understand his friendships and love affairs, sometimes unintentionally causing pain to himself and the people around him. There is a lot of irony in the performance, and the text, which was written half a century ago (in the summer of 1967), sounds relevant.

The duration of the performance is 3 hours 10 minutes with one intermission.
